LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD [review]

Okay, so he's back, and along with him comes one of my favorite action movie lines EVER... "Yipee-Ky-Yay Motherfucker". God I love these movies... and not just because I used to watch them with my dad!

SPOILERS AHEAD

Okay, so where to begin? The fact that this movie started off and into the action pretty damn quickly? That there were explosions galore and a hott geek for me to ogle? (you might remember him as the 'Mac' computer in the apple commercials) The fact that this movie actually makes me almost reconsider my assessment that Bruce Willis is not hot?

Maybe it was the fact that McLane starts off being an overproctive dad and straight to a heroic cop/detective that takes it upon himself to save the nation from a terrorist who happens to be a computer genius. Computer Genius decides on a 'fire sale' (which is explained in the movie, and it explains the steps as well) and wants to take down the country and 'start over'. With a computer geek at his side John sets out to stop the evil-doer.

In the process he offered money to kill the computer hacker at his side that he has decided to protect. When he refuses BG (Bad Guy, who is totally hot btw) sends helicopters for him. After a chase scene into a dark tunnel where the traffic has been redirected in a bad way McLane takes his stolen cop car and positions it to take a jump on a make-shift ramp made out of a toll-booth. He jumps out just in time to look up and see the car hit the helicopter causing them to both explode. GB (Geek Boy) comes running over to announce the obvious ("You just took out a helicopter with a car!") and McLane calmly and jokingly replies "I was out of bullets".

During the build up his daughter is kidnapped and taken as collateral to control McLane. He learns this while hiding out in "The Wizard"s base (played by the ever-amusing Silent Bob... I mean Kevin Smith). BG rubs it in his face and he decides to go out and kill everyone he can.

There's a battle between him and a fighter jet as he drives a semi-truck around on the freeway as it collapses around him. When he finally gets to his daughter GB is breaking a code for them before they jet off into unknown territories to complete their evil deeds.

After a lot of yelling and a couple dead guys and John getting shot in the shoulder it looks as if BG has the upper hand. Taunting and cruel BG jabs the gun into his gunshot wound while he tells John that he's going to kill both GB and his daughter before he kills him. That's when he mutters my favorite line and SHOOTS HIMSELF and BG who is standing right behind him.

All in all it was a damn good movie. I love it when things explode!
