BLADES OF GLORY [review]
Okay, so I finally got to see this movie and I'd like to know who I have to talk to in order to get my money back? Do I go directly to Will Farrell and Jon Heder or do I have to talk to the studio or something? Maybe I'll just beat up some usher at the theater and steal his lunch money... yeah, that'll make me feel better. After all, he didn't warn me against the total suck-fest of this movie.
Okay, to be honest it was funny... in a couple parts. I was squicked out by the brother/sister make-out scene (although I knew it was coming from practically the very beginning) and Pam's character (Katie... and okay Jenna Fisher's character) got on my nerves a little. Not to mention how unbelievable it was that they learned to trust each other enough to perform a complex and acrobatic routine in two weeks. Then a complicated and dangerous stunt never able to be performed before in less than a week. Not to mention... decapatation? What? Skates are blunt.
The part that really got me was the ending. I can't decide if it was a weirder ending than THE 40-YEAR OLD VIRGIN or not. Which is weirder Steve Carrell floating out of bed (after finally having sex) to dance in a field with all the other characters in the movie while singing This Is the Dawning of the Age of Aquarius or Will Farrell and Jon Heder holding hands while 'flying' out of a hole in the roof of the skating rink/stadium to go 'fly' in the clouds next to each other. It's almost as weird as the 'flying car' scene at the end of GREASE. Nope, it's weirder.
